Donald A. Olsen, was a member of Holy Rosary. Mr. Olsen was born Dec. 12, 1913, in Portland. He was raised in Astoria with four brothers. He worked as an electronics specialist and retired in 1977. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He married his wife, Agnes [Remlinger] Olsen, in 1943. He was a member of the Mazamas, Oregon Agate and Mineral Society, Mount Hood Rock Club and Columbia-Willamette Faceters Guild, in which he was a top design artist. He is survived by his wife, his children Loretta McGregor, of Damascus, and Bernard Olsen, of Portland; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In Memory Of Donald C. Birch....
Donald C. Birch of Gresham, Oregon, Died February 23,2009, at 87. While at Stanford,
he was a member of Theta Xi and the honorary science fraternity Sigma Xi. He worked as a petroleum geologist and traveled throughout the United States, Canada and the Philippines. He was honored when a fossil he found in the Miocene silt at Round Mountain near Bakersfield, Calif., was named for him. He co-founded the Wyoming Geological Society and Mount Hood Rock Club. He was a charter member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He belonged to the Northwest Geological Society, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Gresham Historical Society. Survivors: his wife, Ruth; his son, Anthony; his daughter, Georgianna B. Thurber; his sister, Ena Finlayson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In Memory Of Chris Dwyer....
Chris Dwyer was 56, of Portland, Oregon, formerly of Bergenfield.
She died January 14,2009 at her home, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born April 1, 1952 in New York City. She lived in Bergenfield until 1980, when she moved to Oregon. In Portland, she worked as a genetic counselor at OHSU, and later was a self-employed Realtor. She was a member of the Mount Hood Rock Club. She was a master of stained glass, and a skilled woodworker. Surviving are her partner, Alicia Hapakuka; and brothers, Robert, Michael and John Dwyer.
